Entry Criteria & Deadlines For Best Security Ideas Award


(1)  Entry Criteria for Ideas Awards
If you have an idea that can benefit security, then you are eligible to enter our Ideas Awards category regardless of your idea's stage of maturity.

(2)  Process for Ideas Awards

Entry Form

If you select to apply for the GSC Ideas Awards (Best Security Idea and Crowded-Places Award), you have to submit the short online form earlier than June 15th 2008.    THE EXTENDED DEADLINE IS JULY 31, 2008    Click here to access the online entry form    
Selection
The Judging Committee will review and select the winners from the entries received. The selected winners will present their ideas on stage at the Grand Final conference of the GSC in London.


Entry Criteria & Deadlines for Best Security Startup Awards

(1)  Entry Criteria for Startup Award  

  • Venture must offer a technology product that can be used to prevent, defend against, cope with or recover from terrorist incidents, other criminal acts, natural disasters, including identifying or locating perpetrators of these acts.
  • Venture can have not more than $5 million USD in annual revenues in 2007 (= total annual sales). Pre-revenue companies are welcome to enter.
  • Entrants may be either individuals or firms/companies.

(2)  Process for Startup Award:

Round One Entry

All entrants have to submit the online form earlier than June 15th 2008.  Click here to access the online entry form   FOR STARTUPS FROM ASIA ONLY, THERE IS AN EXTENSION UNTIL JULY 15, 2008   

Round Two 
The Judging Committee will review and select the best executive summaries from among the entries received in Round 1. The selected semi-finalists will be notified in July 2008 to enter their Round-Two entry form that will be available online.

Geographic Semi-Finals

The top 15 entrants are then selected for evaluation and live presentation at one of the three regional Semi-Finals in Washington DC (USA), Brussels (Belgium) or Singapore in September 2008. 

Grand Final in London 
The top two contenders from each region will advance to the Grand Final on November 13th in London. The six finalists will present their business cases to a panel of judges consisting of officials from government, venture capital, security, and/or technology sectors.
